Curvy Yoga Course

Come as you are

We're not going to beat around the bush - injuries, limitation in mobility and bigger bellies and bums can make yoga a little more challenging. At Stretch we believe that yoga is for every body – young, old, big and small - which is exactly why we've designed our Curvy Yoga course.

This four-week program is an invitation for everybody to come and move their bodies in ways that feel amazing! With a focus on body acceptance and working with what you've got - we'll use lots of props and adjusted sequences to show you how you can make any yoga pose work for you!

4-Week Course

14 Days of Free Classes

Achieve, celebrate, transform

Four weeks of growth

We understand that life can get busy, and commitments may arise. If you miss a week, you can always make it up in the next intake or the parallel course. Alternatively, you can explore the parallel course running at our sister studio.

Small group setting

We believe in the power of personalised attention, and that's why our commitment to your growth and well-being extends to keeping our classes intentionally small. By maintaining a cozy class size, we create a supportive environment.

Yoga for everybody

Joining a 'traditional' yoga class can be frustrating and intimidating to newcomers. We've created this course so you can learn to work with what you've got, grow your confidence and have fun doing so!

About Mandy Deshong

Mandy’s motto for life has always been “I’d rather regret doing it than regret not doing it at all” and it was this, that led Mandy to complete her 350 Yoga Teacher training through the Stretch Academy. Years later, yoga and yoga teaching is an enormous part of Mandy’s life.

Mandy’s passion for teaching yoga is aligned with her desire to help others who may feel yoga is out of their realm of possibility.Props in yoga practice such as blocks and a strap are a focus in Mandy’s classes and the belief system that any pose can be adjusted to suit you!

With a warm and positive “can do” attitude, Mandy loves to offer many alternatives in classes to enable every body type to do yoga. Mandy’s aim is to build a happy, confident atmosphere where all students regardless of experience, shape or size can thrive.

What do I need to bring?

For a comfortable and enjoyable experience at Stretch Yoga, we recommend bringing a few essentials:

To stay hydrated throughout your practice we recommend bringing a water bottle. Hydration is key to supporting your body as you move and stretch.

A small towel can be handy for wiping away sweat and providing additional comfort during your session.

While we have a limited number of mats available for hire at $2, we recommend bringing your own yoga mat.

What should I wear?

Remember to choose clothing that allows you to move freely and doesn't restrict your movements. As for footwear, we typically practice barefoot or with grip socks.

When it comes to attire, comfort is key. We recommend wearing breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics that allow for a full range of motion. Opt for flexible leggings or shorts paired with a comfortable tank top or T-shirt.

What if I have an injury or health concern?

We'll start to book everyone in 15 minutes prior to the class starting. Your teacher will be available to chat about anything that's going on and suggest modifications throughout the practice to keep you safe!

What happens if I miss a class?

Life happens! We allow for one make up session, so if you miss a class, you're welcome to attend a session in the next round.

Any uncertainties regarding dates or additional info, please shoot us an email.

What's on at Stretch?

Each month we have a variety of offerings, courses and workshops to help you deepen and develop your practice on and off the mat.
